Q: Do I need permission to run a criminal/eviction background search?
A: If you are running this background check for pre-employment or rental purposes, you must comply with all State and Federal
laws. Please read the FACT Act and FCRA. Permission is required for employment and tenant screening.
Currently, you do not need permission to search criminal records for other purposes. We do, however,
urge you to keep up-to-date with new laws. |

Q: Why are only county-wide searches available in some states?
A: We only offer statewide searches in states where we can access data online. If we do not have online access to this data, we do not consider it statewide. Some states do not offer their information online, and others do not have a central repository. We consider these to be county-level states. |
